Basketball practices will start in early November for boys/girls travel teams (ages 3-6). The after school program will start in January.

Travel Basketball

KYAA is now accepting registrations for Boys and Girls Travel Basketball. This program is for children grades 3 through 6 who enjoy competitive play against teams from other local towns. There are leagues for the following age groups:

Boys Grades 3 & 4

Girls Grades 3 & 4

Boys Grades 5 & 6

Girls Grades 5 & 6

KYAA is committed to organizing teams for each of these groups. At this time, we have coaches for (1) Boys 3 &4 team,  (1) Boys 5 & 6 team and (1) Girls 5 &6 team. We are looking for coaches for a  Girls 3 & 4 should there be enough interest.

We would really like to make this happen for our girls this year! If you would like to coach a girl’s team, please contact KYAA ASAP! WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!!!

Our intent is to limit the size of each team to 10 or 11 players. At least 10 are needed for productive practices, but no more than 11 in order to provide enough playing time during games. Roster spots will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Team practices (usually two days per week) will begin the week of November 1st and will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Practice dates and times will be announced once the team rosters are established. The games will be on Saturdays. They will most likely begin on December 2th and end on February 17th.

There are no games scheduled during the holiday break.

The registration fee this year will be $50 per player. This fee includes a reversible basketball shirt with home and away colors. Please be sure to indicate your child's shirt size on the registration form.

Recreational Basketball

KYAA is now accepting registrations for Boys and Girls Recreational Basketball. This program is for children grades K through 2. Recreational Basketball will begin on Monday, January 8th and will continue each Monday through February 19th. The program will begin right after school in the KES multi-purpose room from 3:15pm to 4:30pm.

The registration fee this year will be $30 per player. For families with additional siblings including those participating in KYAA Travel basketball, the fee will be $20 for each additional participant. NOTE: PLEASE GIVE WRITTEN NOTIFICATION TO KES IF YOUR CHILD IS PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROGRAM. THIS WILL LET KES KNOW THAT THE CHILD HAS PERMISSION TO REMAIN AT THE SCHOOL AND WILL NOT BE TAKING THE BUS HOME. PARENTS MUST PICK UP THEIR CHILD AT 4:30PM.
